Cod, Pea & Potato Casserole

I love eating fish so decided to try cooking a Hairy Bikers' recipe from their book One Pot Wonders .For convenience I bought the kindle version.


Living 40 miles from the coast means that for fresh fish we have to rely on supermarkets or the fishmongers in the town centre. Being an angler and having experienced the flavour of truly fresh fish I tend to buy frozen. I remember the amazing taste of a mackerel freshly caught from Loch Long, that particular species deteriorates very quickly and any I have bought from a fish counter have been a disappointment in comparison. The same is true of cod caught from the Holderness coast and cooked within an hour. Fish frozen shortly after being caught is I find the next best thing to that caught by myself.


The dish was easy to cook, the quantities in the recipe seemed spot on and it was well received by the family. I had cooked some carrots to be mashed for baby Tom so served a few on the plate but wouldn't normally have bothered. #onepotwonders
